Even desert casual clothing has bling!

Image
As if you didn’t already know, the Valley is heating up and when the temperature is climbing, it’s a great time to shop. This week I am writing about stores that feature desert casual clothing, espcecially cloth-ing with “bling.” The colors are bright and the bling is everywhere in jewelry, belts, hats and embellishment right on the clothing. You name it – it is here to stay. Each and every season you will find it even on the golf courses. Get out of the heat and get into the cool stores. It will be worth the few moments of discomfort of getting into and out of a hot car. Let’s support our retailers who stay open all year long, who make their stores comfortable with air conditioning and well stocked with seasonal clothing and accessories.

Palm Springs:

Jannelle’s – 113 La Plaza. This store has been in the Plaza for 15 years and is located near See’s Candy. Jannelle’s is known for their casual resort wear. Owner Anita Irvin prides herself with the affordable feminine attire she carries. She specializes in women’s sizes from small to extra large. The merchandise is very fashionable and colorful. They also carry many separates, which makes it easy to shop if you have different sizes from top to bottom. You will find a large variety of merchandise like luggage, purses, hats, sunglasses and they carry a large selection of clip earrings. The summer hours are 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. seven days a week. That also have a personable staff, Judy and Barbara, to help you put together your outfit and accessories. Stop by and check this store out in the very quaint and colorful plaza in Palm Springs.

Mario’s of Palm Springs – 155 S. Palm Canyon Drive. Mario Hernandez has been in business in our Desert for 30 years including years in the Palm Springs Mall, and now on Palm Canyon. He also has a store at the Westfield Mall in Palm Desert. They carry a large variety of merchandise of unique character. They have sizes to fit everyone including the full figure woman. You will find friendly service, jewelry, glitzy watches, scarves, handbags, hats, and flowers. Mario was born and raised in Blythe, and has a fine reputation in our Valley for his flair in selections of colors in his merchandise. His latest fashion addition is the Marilyn Monroe style dresses she wore. Shop and visit the “Forever Marilyn” statue and then wander over to Mario’s nearby to find great resort casual clothing and lots of bling to impress. Be a Marilyn Monroe look alike, at least in clothing. They are open seven days a week.

Indian Wells: Serena’s, 74-963 Cook Street at Highway 111. This store is known for its fashionable ladies golf attire, and you will find a beautiful selection of boutique clothing as well. Serena’s has lines I don’t see in other stores. They always have a sale going on which allows you to get great bargains. They also carry very smart lines of women’s golf wear including hats, separates and even bling on the golf outfits. They carry wonderful gift items as well. This store has been here for the last 26 years. Some of the lines the store carries are Alberto Mikali, Lauren Vidal pants from Paris, and David Klein. In the golf section they carry golf clothes even for the full figure ladies, and they feature many top lines ranging in sizes from 5-XL. Stop by and get to know Maurae and Gloria and meet owner Sara Randal. This is a fine store to add to the list of treasures in our Desert.
